Just to scrawl words on paper whether to share joy,
or to get out those lows,
whether its typed, said, read, or signed,
as long as it gets out is like birth,
just to watch letters take form in words,
that form stories, poems or rants,
visualize the imagery of a true artist,
the sculpter of words,
architect of rhyme,
someone who will build you a masterpiece,
and everytime the image changes
dependent only upon one thing

So true, thats what I like about writings, esp creatie ones. Nobody sees the exact same thing. I like this a lot.

Excellent. Perhaps this is where it all comes from, an idea as this. Most courtcy poet friend.

Exactly! What so many writer's can't seem to understand is that once it's published, it isn't yours anymore. It belongs to the reader. And they get to do whatever they like with it, a far as interpertation goes.

Like, when I see someone trying to explain to someone just what their poem was about after someone leaves them a comment, it comes off to me, like someone trying to explain to someone why a particular joke is funny.

I know it's hard. You slave over a poem. You pour your heart and soul and blood and tears into a write. It becomes your baby, and then you have to watch, as someone takes your precious, and runs in a completely different direction.

You have to learn to enjoy it. People are going to relate in countless different ways, and I think that's my favorite part about poetry. The rorshack factor. I hope I've taken what you wanted from this. then again, it doesn't really matter, does it. :D

Thanks for this. I'd bookmark it, but I have no more room :( Either way, I think everyone here should read this piece, and get something from it.

Well written and oh so true - even if the reader is just the writer

On Thursday September 13th, 2007, Esau (279) writes:
this feels intrinsically right. to share is the goal, but what is shared is different each time it is observed. despite the reader though, the original meaning is intact as long as the writer exists.
