I look around me at the world,
and all I see is hate and violence.
I see needless killing and endless suffering,
everywhere I turn.

Why do we do these things?
What is the point?
Do we do it to feel strong?
Or just because we can?

Everywhere I turn, I see these things,
but know it's nothing new.
WE've been this way as long as anyone can remember.
But why?

When did it start?
How?
Why do we continue,
as if we have something to gain?

There are so many questions that remain unanswered,
so many problems that remain unsolved.
But as I sadly look around,
there is one thing of which I am certain.

The killing won't stop,
and the wars will never end.
The suffering will continue,
and this world will never change.

We will continue to die,
as will we suffer.
The wars will go on and we will remain as we are.
For all of eternity.

human beings need war. without war, we grow complacent and domicile. war brings out the best, and worst, in man at the same time. A_C

Nice peice again...i don't agree with that last stanza though...humans are a bomb with an indefinite timer...i do not believe we shall exist forever, the way we are and the way we use our planet...it can't continue forever.
