You lead the world on:
A charming laugh, sweet smile; a dark secret
One I've known for quite a while
I know too well the fire and rage
That consumes you occasionally
I've watched as the beer controls
And makes you someone else
Someone I wouldn't fear
If not for the bruises inflicted
I've been there - helpless to help you
As you cried yourself to sleep
Next to my battered body
And seen the liquor fade away
Leaving you with a headache
Easily explained away by the music
Left on all night by your evil twin
As he raged through my house
Inhabiting my lover's body
Leaving me hiding - scared
In a home no longer mine
