As she stared deep into his eyes
She saw nothing more than faceless lies
At that moment she began to see
Being with him meant to never be free
She'd created a fantasy to help understand
Why beating a woman, made him more of a man
Night after night she had dealt with his games
And day after day she had lived with the pain
She watched as the blood flowed freely from his head
And thanked God for the gun she kept next to her bed
Once broken
