Shadows of Dreams,
Dreams upon the wall,
Shadows of the dreamcatcher dancing above us all.

A dream!
I dreamt a dream tonight
Of most uncertain things.
A new and strange, inviting world I had entered in.
With drape of gown and breath of sigh,
I was ushered in.
I stood and stared could not believe
What myst had encompassed me
And carried into demons gates the rest that's left of me.

The hell I met was that same hell
That once had imprisoned me.

The winds drove in with fiery speed
And spat my remains,
my ashes...
still smouldering...
At the feet of Anubis.
(So is it the alligators or the everlasting joy?)
Sink or Swim.

Ever harking,
Ever hearing,
The God had heard my cries...
The God had heard my silent cries.

One spark.
(can start a fire)
One cry.
(can save your life)

One spark in a stark pile of ashes...
What's a girl to do?

The God leaning in to abridge my disaster
Looked into my ruin and spoke of the end.

"A sleep, an all entrancing sleep..."

A beautiful eulogy of tedium.

And thus, my eyes were closed by his softspoken words
And so i did not see into the darkness,
The fall awaiting me...
The end awaiting me.

Then, and only then, my end did seem too soon.

Somewhere,
Hovering between heaven and hell
I fought to rip open my eyes
And force within a fiery breath,
Of smoke,
And death,
And fiery flesh.
A life-giving breath...
The end of death.

Alas!
Already the fire ignited my soul,
So ready was I for death.

I made not a sound as I watched all I'd dreamed
Slowly melt away...

And out of the ashes
I did slowly arise,
Out of my dreaming, soul-eating respite.

I liked this. Lovely write =). Dreams are a peculiar thing, aren't they? When it said 'a dream!/I dreamt a dream tonight/Of most uncertain things' it reminded me of A Midsummer Nights Dream when Bottom tries to explain his dream :p. ~Amber

good.. i was worried about posting it.. i kept finding other things to do then coming back and writing more... so the rhythm and flow and structure is completely different in some parts and i thought it might detract from the peice as a whole.
