Of all creatures and things a tree's death is the most graceful and heartbreaking thing to behold.
So like human disease:
Either withering away; a slow steady infection, seeking the next set of cells to destroy before moving on to the next...
and the next...
and the next.
[rot]
Or with a swiftness; striking and killing faster than evening heat lightning.
Until the tree can stand no longer...
Held aloft by the love of others
Until they too
Can stand
no more.
