For one moment
I thought I could love you...
Darting eyes
Hiding from your hypnotic gaze
I hid my longings from you.
Reaching out with my mind,
Imagining how it would feel
to touch you for the very first time.
Tuck that beautiful hair behind you ears
So you could plainly see
All the things
That I hide
Behind locked eyes and broken doors.
Safe.
Just in case.
But who'd have thunk
with an opportunity like this
That I could fail...
And still be here alone
Just dreaming of you.

How is it fair
that he has her
and she has you...

And I have nothing.

NO ONE.
