i stood and watched the sea
rolling waves
running to the beach
azure crystal passion
under the moon
running to its lover
with graceful abandon
nothing but the rushing
joining of souls
resplendent and complete
combined and ethereal
and i wanted so much
to be that shore
be as lovely
as those grains of sand
shining with starlight
and you and your intensity
to be the tide
caressing and embracing
beautiful in the moonlight
yet i am nothing
but a soul upon a rock
shrouded against the wind
crying small pieces of me
into an unforgiving sea
and you are
farther from here
than the moon
from the tides
and you can not see
this crashing
