clouds hover thick and she shot like an arrow through them
does rise on wings faded better served for hiding
instead choosing to run and enfold into vaporous shifts
to cloak slow tears within tattered silver fragments beyond knowing

there is no honor
in breaking down amongst the lilies

.

thinnest air fill shallow breathing lungs with shards of numbing
every inhale a reminder to smile sweetly and nod with grace
as every heartbeat resounds like thunder in an abandoned cathedral
echoing like ghosts through forgotten gardens of polished stone

the sun set long ago
yet her voice still traces patterns

.

storms shift and move in waves and she remains seeming like marble
set in perfect quietude yet her eyes betray as they drain of color
fixed to a point beyond that holds no more than once fey sweet dreams
hurricane forces battering into fading a form that keeps softness in secret

it would not do to speak her pain upon the clouds
for the sound would surely break the illusion
