*or He Sleeps to Heal So They Say*
in quiet hours
thoughts race
like moonbeams
before the dawn
tossing wishes
asking mercy
searching for hope
in digital lines
as his chest
rises and falls
induced silence
and stillness
steady breaths
of mechanical rhythm
and it's cold
here
outside your coma
yet i whisper
in smiles
past memories
of love and life
before the chaos
carried you far
into a world not mine
i can not go
where you have gone
only sit quietly
swallowing tears
before they rise
steeling my resolve
stand resolute
to the challenge
knowing somehow
that my voice
will stretch
across the void
of the darkness
penetrate the clouds
of your medicated mind
do not stray
to far
.
return
.
survive
.
love
.
live
.
stay
.
be
for my J
