Within the calm
of falling snow
my minds eye opens
and I'm left staring
into the purity of ages
Everything falling
to sleeping
blanketed once more
in a hyperborean embrace
To rest with
contented sighs
not wanting for
anything more
than the rapture
of quiet slumber
I envy this wood
this quiescence
for its sleeping
Although long
will keep the secrets
of Summer's lovers
and whispers
of Autumn memories
with gentle and
winsome fingers
Then temperate
will come Spring
to stir these
spirits to soft waking
and the renewal
begins again
So has it been
and shall come
to be once more
The forever turning
will go on as ever
The world will move
and time will advance
and all shall progress
around the eternal ring
Yet for this moment
I will stand in stillness
content in silence
instilling my soul
with the tranquility
of falling snow
and the caress
of Winter's kiss
