here are these days
that creep in
as deep as the cold outside
where heavy thoughts
and forlorn dreams
reach down
into the bones
feeding
on soft marrow
leaving me
hollow and brittle
afraid to move too fast
lest i become
nothing more than
a ghost of a heart
surrounded by dust
so bathe me
in liquid amber
molten and swirling
with ages
so when the days
rain their chill
upon me again
hardening
my new found skin
at least
 i can shine
beautiful
even
in my emptiness
