come night hover closer
kiss me with halcyon stars
so i have something precious
to hold against my soul
as i move silently
two feet running swift
through the shadows and shade
to evanesce in the willow grove

i was never made of daylight
reigning glorious and golden
with skies of perfect blue
or dreamy cotton candy clouds
like the ballerinas that moved
in perfect pirouettes
with feather light ease
and porcelain doll loveliness

the moon always held my heart
for i believed if she kept it
it would shine for eternity
there among the darkened hours
and become something more elegant
for the night at its heaviest blue
seems to hold everything else
a little closer to graceful

so i hide among the quiet hours
watching my keeper with whispering eyes
as my soul fills with stardust dreams
to leave every hope-fallen sigh
upon redeeming breezes
for beyond the twilight of morning
i revert to the flawed hummingbird
that resides behind a wish and a smile

if you become anymore elegant you're going to make the swans jealous and the royalty nervous. tsk tsk. i'm envious actually, you never lose your grace.

You are so amazingly talented. You write masterpieces with paintbrushes. You are brilliant. And this was moving and timeless. Well done, Maddam. --Jes

It's so beautiful and flowing. The words seemed to run off the page and into my mind.

I have read the great Greek tragedies, heard songs that could bring angels to tears, seen sunsets, that stole my breath away, but nothing moves me like you...

yes, everything is more beautiful under the moonlight. aside from the reason that imperfections are hidden in the dark and all you see is a wonderful mystery. (well, if i understood this right) lol
