would you
object
if I ran my cool fingers
down the muscles of your arm
up the inside of your wrists
trailing stars of ice
upon your skin
~ * ~ + ~ * ~
would you
mind
if I traced patterns
like smoke and shadows
with my nails upon your back
leaving faint whispers of promises
in their wake
~ * ~ + ~ * ~
would you
look away
if I stared into your eyes
searching into your soul
for that one exquisite ache
that will make your breath catch
and burn in your throat
~ * ~ + ~ * ~
would you
retreat
if I leaned into you
to whisper sonnets of ancient fire
against the devine pulse at your neck
as my lips betray their wanting
while my breath barely brushes your earlobe
~ * ~ + ~ * ~
would you
move
if I drape my arms about your neck
pressing close to you without a sound
so that my heartbeat can dance with yours
creating a rhythm as haunting as chants of Nepal
and echoes in the cathedrals of forever
~ * ~ + ~ * ~
would you
turn away
if I pressed my lips to yours
soft beseaching and delicate with grace
searching for the secrets of passion
that hint at an eternity of neverending elation
with every breath that passes as a whisper from you
~ * ~ + ~ * ~
would you
choose to wake
if I told you it was all a dream
or
would you
wait quietly
for
another
"would you.."
