Darkness falls
On a city of dust,
A broken shell.

One beast stands
On the ruins of a world,
With eyes of stone.

Rock crumbles.
With the passage of time,
The watcher bleeds.

Streams of sand
Tear the skin and rip flesh
Made of granite.

The watcher
Long ago turned his head
To the decay.

Ages past,
The sentinel forgot
His vigilance.
