Now I lay me down to rest
To leave behind my love and friends
Who knows just where the brick road ends
But I just can't walk on

I have been through many phases
And like a diamond I've many faces
All are scratched and worn in places
But none are all of me

Now I lay me down to die
Every dream was but a lie
And to watch the stars burn out tonight
Would ease way I feel

The pent-up sadness has been let loose
The pain is one that can't be soothed
I've tried my best but couldn't prove
That I was worth it to save

Now I lay down in a hole
Your arm stretched out to save my soul
But my heart has grown too cold
And I can't reach your hand
