I want to say before I go
That you were the only thing to make me breath,
Before I leave I want you to know
The one thing you can’t teach me is to grieve.
You taught me to laugh
You taught me to cry
You taught me that maybe I didn’t need to die.
With you here I was getting used to the fear
It was somehow less real
But it’s getting worse now you’re not near
A broken psyche will never heal.
They left me alone while you were here
Now they’re coming back
But I won’t cry a single tear.
My sanity’s on the rack.
