Did you imagine that someday I’d come back to you?
Tell you “I’m sorry” that it wasn’t true?
Well, I won’t. Not now. Not ever.
Do you think it’s hard to decide whether
I wish to stay here in safety and celebration
Or return to your world of hate and condemnation?
A fool could decide!
But you think I never tried.
You don’t know how hard things got
I don’t want to go back, I’d rather rot.
Arrangements made so young
In case someone found me hung;
Unable to cope with the mounting stress.
Admittedly I didn’t try my best
But all I ever wanted was to rest.
You’ve lost me now but I don’t care
The ultimatum wasn’t fair
So I left and here I stay
I TOLD YOU I’D MAKE YOU PAY
