Droplets of rain
Land on the roof
Slide down shingles
Into the gutter
A sound so amazing
No words can compare
Then Thunder
Overwhelms
The sky…
Leaving you alone
Scared of the dark
With childhood
Memories
Cold nights
Warm tears
And a panicked heart
Hiding inside
A fortress you built
Out of table chairs
And ripped pieces
Of dirty sheets

An excellent write. Phenomenal word choice that vibrantly evokes the imagery in the mind.
