Memories fade to hazy smoke,
coming from the burning ashes.
Bridges falling from the past,
with every one I'm cutting gashes.
Deep and wide becomes the pain,
in my wrist so I can feel,
to help my mind remember,
my body's not too strong to kill.
The city we built for you and I,
to begin our forever after,
once over flowed with love and joy,
and everyday was filled with laughter.
Now we only hear the screams,
of each and every tear that falls,
and now we've fallen victom,
to what lay outside our walls.
Should've thought of where we were.
The brittle walls built on the sand,
would not of stood the test of time,
no matter what strength was in our hands.
Our city burned out of control,
and it's time to do what's right.
I'm taking what I have left now,
and I'll wonder off into the night.
