Today I found a picture
Of what we used to be
Us
Before we even knew the bond we shared
In your eyes Iw as reflected as a child
Begging for ice cream again
And you led me back
To a place
Where I loved who I was again
I laid there that day
Waiting for my chest to collapse
From the featherweight of the sheets
And the leaden look in your eyes
And I want to breathe
I want you to know
I'm still beautiful
I'm still fragmented/crazy
Torn
But I'm beautiful.
You left me in sympathy
I've never really had [anything but] pride,
So please,
Don't stare
As I leave in the tattered sheets
You left me in
Your eyes still amaze me
But with a hollowness too much like my own
If god loves me
He'll let me go
I'm translucent/pale
Blackened/scarred/bleeding
But still beautiful
Always
Beautiful
Take your eyes away from me,
Rip my heart out with them
(you know you will)
Perhaps it's easier in life, that way...
