i understand.
it’s a matter of scheduling
but i still want you
nearer to me than any other
all the live long day and
especially right now;
while we are both so new
and each superficially perfect
characteristic and aesthetic
tortures us with time.

patience is not nearly
as virtuous as you seem.
and would you believe
i spend an equal amount of time
consciously not thinking of you
as i do dwelling in dreams of doing
things to and with and for you?

five second eye fucks in passing
linger and distract
just enough to keep
my gaze on your back
long after you’ve pulled out.
how is it that between us
now is still too late?
i want to have had you
and then have you
before i have you again
until i’ve never gone without
becomes the ongoing undeniable truth between us.
any increment of time
we are not embracing, kissing, laughing
and just enjoying one another
in every possible way
seems unnatural
of course i understand responsibilities
and scheduling prevent our spark from
igniting…but that’s a non-point
i still want you now

"five second eye fucks"...I had to read this twice, it was so simple and complicated...I loved every minute, and every second glance.

This is such a clever piece. It took a slow reading to get it all.
