my mind is a wild garden
it's beauty unappreciated by the cultivated landscape of society
random bursts of my colorful fruit
once blossomed beneath our shared sun
their flowers unplucked,
now pruned by the natural order
they so desperately attempt to control - -
fed by the stream they've dammed,
and poisoned with filthy civilized waste
i wither here, beyond the wall
resigned to exile
nurtured by the freedom of a feral existence
for resisting the futility of
this murderous sub?urban expansion
that eradicates those who will not be tamed
