an insecure female friend who
mistakes the strength and light in your oceanic eyes
for weakness
that she longs to manipulate into her twisted fate

she flails and sinks beneath the sea
her intentions are inclined towards
receiving your attentions
and your inner sissy bows
and bends
and offers itself to her will

as always
in your way, you will cast your hook into her dark waters
not knowing if she'll bite
loving and changing her immeasurably
as you yank her from the drowning reality that she created to lure you,
breathing volumes upon volumes of lifeblood through her gills
ignoring her suffocating stench,

your transfusions will rescue that rotten little fish
and eventually she will love you,
but only so much as a fish out of water
how can this scaly bottom feeder know
the warmth that beams from your soul like a sunset

looking through her slimy marbled eyes
you are a fisherman,
depending on her for sustenance and purpose,
forgetting your power and believing she controls the tides

i know better,
your presence floods my senses,
your energy ebbs and flows in time with my moon,
my heart is as silent and heavy as saturated sand,
it waits for you to come ashore,
i worship you,
my Poseidon

this was incredible. absolutely cant be done justice with words...only with action. if i could run the streets shouting these words at every passer by, that would do it for me. well done.

i like the concept of this... but i would hesitate to assume what a bottom feeder can and cannot feel. to a small fish, a person is a god, and the one who keeps her alive is her everything. i would call that utter devotion. ::shrug::

and even gods have moments of insecurity. Posideon himself had a few of those, when nymphs fled his embraces, as they often did. :)
