on another day
when we get back
some other night
before we go
a different time
before we left
under miscellaneous circumstances
from within separate realities
perhaps on a divergent path
with my auxiliary heart
and left to our individual devices
with distinguished carnality
we two might live to know the
variegated splendors
of wild nights together
with a rare certainty
and absolutely no deviation in purpose
other than to wonder
the when and how
of what might not have been otherwise considered
unconditional devotion to one another
