Knocking at the Heavens Gate,
God puts down Her book,
And rushes to the door,
There stands blushing Satan,
Flowers in his hand
“I’ve brought you homegrown flowers”
She throws Her arms around His neck,
“Our love will never fade,”
He hands the flowers over bashfully,
And grinning gestures He
To the buds hidden by the petals
And upon close inspection,
God sees the buds to be planets.
“That one I’ve named Venus,
This one here is Earth,
Earth is where the joke is played”
Yet God frowns, slightly hurt
“What of me is in this creation,
This is your love; where is mine?”
And Satan folds away the petals,
Pointing at the beings,
“These are to amuse us,
We can be the masters,
I will be the Evil,
So you can be the Good,
Let’s see these funny creatures,
Live the way they should”
And together they took these flowers,
And placed them in a vase,
Now they sit for hours,
Watching…
A us they laugh…
