In this velvet infinite,
I see the dreams that are not yet born,
Not yet gone.
They burn with a subliminal intensity,
An intensity that’d soon burn out.
But they are here for now,
This moment,
This chance,
This opportunity.
An exultation or a sigh,
Let them not pass me by…
In sleep or whilst awake.

I think I know the moment you're writing of...it can be right before actual sleep, but also as you awaken. 'velvet infinite' sums it up beautifully...

Your words also wax philosophical and I had to come back and say that I'm still thinking about them...I love a poem that does this.
