As I lay down My head to rest,
I close my eyes, and try to forget too many horrors beneath my chest.
No more thoughts of pain tonight,
Only silence, no more fright.
No more worries about tomorrow,
No more hurt and no more sorrow.
There is only one escape from my pain,
My only way of staying sane.
For all of my secrets deep inside,
I’ve found new places for each to hide.
Gone are my thoughts of yesterday.
Locked tightly inside, where they’ll stay,
Until tomorrow when I wake,
Then they’re free, my heart to break.
