these are from a collection of Haikus written by my 11 yr old son.
a toad lies in the road
still as a dead man
with tiremarks on his head.
guinea pigs
chirping noisily for food
content with their owners.
remicade
having an IV in the back of your hand
for three hours.
not a car horn
but geese honking in the sky
in V-shaped patterns.
looking up at heaven
waiting for my time
to spread my wings and fly.
as i sit at home
i listen to the loudest music of all
silence.
walking across the beach
i turn my head and realize that
God's grief created a miracle.
as i look around at my family
i see my wallet is empty
but i am the richest man in the world.
