a strike of lightening
a howling wind,
a fallen branch
that has you pinned.
you struggle in vain
and accept your fate
on a blanket of leaves
where you lie in wait.
a shadow
a flutter
a satin cape,
the piercing teeth
upon your nape.
as costumed revelers fill the street,
you ponder
was this the trick
or treat.

Wow. Not what I expected. It's more than the traditional halloween poetry, but still holds that cute simplicity AND made me chuckle. It shows your ability to write in different styles. Please keep posting!
