I look you in the eyes for the last time,
"Take my heart, I don't want it anymore"
With those words, I walk away,
Leaving you puzzled and alone.
You shattered it so many times,
It's finally unable to be repaired.
Lying in a broken heap in my soul,
You left it there when you were finished.
Jagged pieces of it lay everywhere,
Only to hurt someone I thought to love.
I don't like this broken feeling,
So I gave up the shards,
Which at one time were my heart.
Perhaps this is a decision I'll regret,
Trying to save the tattered edges of my soul.
I may now be heartless,
But my soul is still here.
I look at the empty space inside me,
And my eyes fill with tears...
