I never said that you could trust me
I never said I would stand by your side
I never said I would not betray thee
I never said I wouldn’t crush your pride

You would tell me all your deepest pains
And you would tell me all of your fears
I chose to bare some of your strains
And gently wipe away all of your tears

Through all the time you held me
And always tried to keep me near
I can’t believe that you didn’t see
That my heart was always there

I never said that you could trust me
I never said that everything would be good
I never said by your side is where I would be
Because everything not said was understood
