The farther away,
The worst type of day,
And nothing will wonder
Nothing will cry
I’m not looking for mercy
Or a fisherman’s way,
But rather a lifeline
To tug and to hold,
Like strings around a waist
To hold up the pants
I want the support
And the strength from
So little
Not the way it is,
Or could be,
By reaching out and
Asking for some.
Rather a gift in presentation,
A flying buttress for structural
Integrity.
Pick me up
And warm me
Its cold and snowing,
But that makes it
Somehow warmer,
Wondering
Why,
Farther away
On a fisherman’s line.
