The grocery money isn't under the vase
Every Friday, it's there and every Friday
I go out shopping for food
My husband is nowhere to be found
But I just don't care
As I am looking for the money I absentmindedly knock over a picture
A picture of our wedding
Only one eyar ago this happy day seems so far away
The happiest day of my life slowly fading after just one year
The ringing of the phone wakes me from my poignant daydream
Once again I think to myself money, husband
Money first, then husband
It's been like that these past few months
Then I think of the times he kissed me, held my hand, made love to me and told me I meant the world to him
His coat is gone and so is he
And for the first time I cry out
For him.
