On a blank canvas,
I intend to leave a trademark
Before I even envision what shall be superimposed on its white surface.
Only I may gesso it.
Only I may paint it.
Only I may sign it.
Nobody else may touch it,
For it shall only resist repossession.
Paint from other brushes shall drip off my canvas
Without a trace of prior existence.
Knives cannot penetrate the foundation of this future frame bearer,
For I provide the strength that resists damage.
No tear can destroy my blank canvas.
No apparatus can aid one in infringing on my concepts.
No currency,
Whether the form be that of coin, paper, brick, or oil,
Can dictate the direction of my depiction
Or pick the pigments on my palette.
My supplies are financed from within my cauldron of creativity:
A prosperous source of wealth
Taking the form of ideas that only I may collect and combine.
Outside influences are welcome
So long as they do not dominate or distract me from my initial impetus.
Independence and individual freedom
Are the main media for the manifestation
That started as a blank canvas.
