I am a diamond
Resting under an onyx blanket.
Reflections of my environment
Shape my view
And widen orifices
With which to sense
Life's subtle perversions.
Once I was as dark as the future
Of those damned to decomposition,
But through constant pressure
I am harder and stronger.
Now the light
Can be absorbed through every pore.
We all have the potential
To morph into diamonds.
Too often,
We waste away
And live off that
Which has no hope
Or potential for existence.
We fuel ourselves,
Burning our energy away on the unchangeable.
But through the rough terrain,
We all arrive closer to the isle of shine.
We will glimmer like the jewels
We were meant to be.
Strive for that tight embrace.
