I need not go to the pool,
For I have a private ocean.
Salt crystals wade back and forth
Through the water and my scarred soul
Providing agony with each stroke taken
And excruciation with every kick.
This marine manifestation comes from one exclusive source
And the particles from which this sodium-laden liquid originated
Unabashedly commit acts of vandalism against its twin wombs,
Leaving the irritated and damn-near inactive.
The red and blue pigments in these uteri quickly cohabited.
Now all I see is black,
The sun still remains
Eclipsed by my private ocean.
My skin resists the rays
As I float aimlessly atop my sea of semi-infinite sorrow
Waiting for the levitating agents to leave
So that I may finally drown.
