Hey Old Man, up in the sky
I know you can hear me
Or at least, you can try
'cause I don't want to cry
for help,
if you'll just deny
me.
So give me a sign
that you're really there
a mark so benign
it has to be thine
(clearly divine!)
I pray for relief
an end to my grief
(and pain)
stealing hope like a thief;
maybe my prayers are in vain
But please hear me out
don't turn away;
just hear what I say!
please, make her stay
I know we'll be happy again…
…one day
if we get but one chance
to be strong; to go on
we'll have a wondrous romance -
never feeling askance!
all our fears will be gone
forever.
