As an angel
Spreading its wings
you stood there
trying to reach the other side.
Tears filled your eyes
as you looked at me.
The word "goodbye"
crossed your lips,
but there was no sound.
The salt of Melancholy
seared your throat
as you tried to speak.
I reached out for you
but you backed away.
Why?
During that moment
the breath of the reaper
caught you, and you flew
as the angel you now are.
