you you you gotta be strong
spoken
invitro fertilization
she wears her hair down
caught up in the sound of envy
but all she ever wanted was a white picket fence and a plastic coi pond
it's just a little peace
a place to call her own

i said
but the only shelter ever offered
was the womb of a woman slightly unwilling
only too empty to send her off early

she she she said
yes, but i gotta be strong
spoken
words to ring on the spires of a listless world
paint or paper machet maybe a pinch'll save some rouge
but i don't know what to do 'bout that loose tooth
a little overbearing a little annoying in the evening

i can't even begin to describe the way that feather
flies
light, without purpose
lead. do you wanna see the bottom of the sea
broken dreams
it was a fantasy
she thought,
all i'll ever need; a white picket fence and some fish in a pond
a place to sing my songs and be free

but but but she gotta be strong
spoken
carry on
a girl's gotta weather a girl's gotta wander in the rain
the storm drain water ain't collected in the west
we know it'll rain

she'll be clean
unaffected by the afterbirth
and the filth of gender lines
and boyish lies

no she ain't afraid of penetration
she'll offer you a home
but a rubber'll keep
you you
you the fuck out of her womb
she's more than slightly unwilling
to bear
but baby so ready to sin
again and again and again

but
she she she gotta be strong
spoken
invitro fertilization
cause johnny just wont cut the snuff
ain't cut out to be a daddy

ugly but not too shabby
still i love the way your cheeks pinch and glow
like i love it when you go down
so so so low
ah, that's it, no to the left
johnny was a fool to watch you drown
but isn't it just like a boy to fade into the sunset
you think it's like he let you down
but no one knows where their path is going
i just want to make a sound

...going through the stuff of yours I haven't yet read... Bubbles, have I told you lately that you're brilliant? I... love... this. I don't know why, but it speaks deeper than most poems here. *sigh*

Dramatic indeed, i'd like to read more of this kinda stuff. Realizm is what this site lacks. But what do i know.-Kefka

This one really gets me. It is just so real, my gut is in knots after reading it. You chop away at hope like a lumberjack.

God... having been kicked out of my house at 16, living on my own in welfare housing... sometimes, when the street lights are out, I know the feeling...

I look out where the stars should be, and swear this will NOT be my life... ended in welfare, devoid of hope...
