if spring has come again
and the thought of the thousand meaningless kisses
within my exploration of human anatomy comes and goes
while the thought of you lingers like the taste of
the hops in a beer that i'm enjoying too early in the day
for my stomach to be happy about it
if i fail to lose hope and words become a little less
meaningful as i have more than just letters arranged
however i have chosen to arrange them and in defiance of
language my heart speaks less often and is content to hum
a tune of its own devising that will not escape to be
immortalized in the cage of some less than perfect
transcription
there is no inscription more perfect than this
and i find proof in the fact that if no words escape my
lips the sun will still shine giving the same frequencies
of light some hidden some missed and some giving color
to all of this creation
and if i'm a small part and i play it then what words
could say anything but to attempt to possess that which
escapes any hand wishing to hold it
and within each day a thousand thoughts flicker in each
little bit of humanity
and alive or dead all are the same quantity but that
living matter seems to possess some mysterious energy
then the greatest hope comes in the thought of our
law of thermodynamics that that little flicker is
something and so we are something that can never die
only undergo change like the rock who's axial angle
and relative position to a celestial fire-ball are
whittled down to a little six letter word in the english language
