i like to keep control of the who what when where how
i am a big fan of incidental meetings and activities
i hide behind spontenaity trying to conceal the fact that my desires are the desires of a coward

if i like to dance around the obvious with words that are fading fast
and if i erase another line for some forgotten piece of the past
that doesn't fit into this song
then who'll be there to blame me
and when my fear of nuclear tragedy comes to its own
my aims reach a reasonable zenith
and the god of war comes into the plane of visible
borne on the strecher that carried the pieces of venus

i can't remember which piece of the story fits into the web of the reasons i give
though no one has ever even thought to wonder i imagine the scrutiny
flesh under synthetic fibres
it helps me to see past everthing on a pedestal of self-assured enmity

and if i like to run from the words for a day or two
and come back to where i was with something more
who would know and who are you to have anything to say about that
then the chemicals mix together and fool neurons into thinking
that energy is forming lesions on my peace of mind
and everything i've done is worthless
and saying so is simply fishing for compliments

this is the formula to you, your explanation is what i have sought..and you have given it freely...the mark of a gentle-man..and remember a "fish" can never fish for complements...they are simply given..

(warning: dodgy pun approaching, tenuously related to last line) I'll bite. ... Intensely internal, insightful and intelligent. (
