the time of life is short and if we live, we live to tread on kings - a bathroom wall and william shakespeare
the bits and pieces we left behind
and the tell-tale signs that we may have landed
on our own two feet
wasting away the delicacy of her features becoming frail
and though i remember her as being beautiful
i can't honestly say i'm not lying to
myself for my own selfish need
for beautifully imaculate visions of the past and
the illusion of validation
goodbye friends of the underground
your feet carry you to satisfaction of need
your heart deliver you the essence of the mystery
(invisible)
so that art and beauty and all of this becomes incorporated into the minerals of your bones
