how can you look at me
with that unblinking azure stare
filled so full of want, affection...
and still not touch me?

how can you kiss me, hold me,
care for me...
and yet tell me you don't want me.

you tell me "don't get me wrong,
...i really do like you."
and then look at me like you've just impaled me
"i just don't want a relationship."

on an afternoon like today's
i felt completely at ease
laying across from you...
just watching each other.
your eyes were blue today instead of green,
love instead of lust
but i must have been mistaken
because you took those eyes off of me forever
you stood and walked out of your bedroom door..
leaving me cold and alone, trying to gather the broken bits left of my trust.

"because you took those eyes off of me forever you stood and walked out of your bedroom door". . . whoa, this piece is broken and beautiful. completely fell into the ending of it, the pain, the relation of knowing her. . .missing her. . beautiful
