last night i met a boy who looked like elvis
he asked for my number
but i never asked his name
a night like last night could have only been a dream
perfect horror turned into perfect bliss
I spent an hour in a car stuck behind a train
with a man named dave
most would be annoyed
but i was happy to sit in perfect silence
with only the clothes upon us and the air in between us
i woke up yesterday to some of the worst news i've ever had to hear
but the warm summer night ended perfectly
a number given to a stranger
a car ride spent in silence with the man i adore
and one cold beer at the skate park to warm me asleep.
