twelve steps taken to forget
these doors open to sublet
sicken twice and leave me for dead
better than knowing it's all in my head

little assumptions covered in vague lies
false sympathetics look to me with codeine eyes
trapped in a bed with pure white sheets
harbor death, paralyze, to the machine beat

dehumanize pole appendage, vein to a drip
push a button for the telly, watch your clock tick
this skeleton in shroud looms over the bed
burning numbers with his judgements onto my forehead

burn fast in the calm, from it I am torn
seeping eyes realize for this I was born
from fear sprouted mistakes too severe to turn back
my ignored diagnostic lead me into the black
