path to tranquility,
littered with the slow healing wounds
of many an ancient battle

and the scars of those more ancient

full of branches and forks
myriad decisions for your weary mind
day after day, endlessly

as the brambles reach to rend thy flesh

lay wound upon wound
till you've cut to the core
scars upon scars upon scars

so old we dont remember thier cause

wandering on in a haze of pain
and bittersweet memory
countless paths, branching endlessly

each the same, leading to another like itself

dark paths, light paths
paths choked with wild growth
paths that lie clear and straight

but i only seek one path, one way

its clear and bright, this path i seek
far too long have it walked dark paths
seeing them with twisted vision to be bright

my vision is so clear now though

I stagger weary and wounded, searching
but all paths seem so dark, and so alone
none are my path, none the one that I desire

so onward I go looking, though I begin to fear

that I shall never
find my path
to Tranquility

so bittersweet and painful, remeniscent and aching. Like knowing the exit exists yet fearful the map is too old and the terrain changed once again. wonderfully done.

*sigh* the ending is almost... sweet, in it's subtle release from hope.. i love the soft rhyming throughout this, and it brought up many pictures and a feeling of the frenzy of pain.
