I Found Peace

~ Instant Insanity ~

The night was long and restless,
So I watched the sun come up,

As I sat, watched, and listened,
The trees whispered sweet nothing in my ears,
While the birds played me an undiscovered melody,

And in this moment of nirvana,
I realized a key element of my life,
In this corrupt world of miscommunication and misguidance,

THERE IS STILL PEACE,

Not through sex, drugs, or music,
But through the eyes of a child,
The warmth of a loved one,
The look of happiness and excitement on a strangers face,
And YES the silence in the early morning dew misting the grass,

As I stared in at the beauty not yet defined by another,

PEACE,

And So as I sat watching the trees sway back and forth bringing life into this death bound world,
I sat…
Listened…
And Felt something that I thought could only be felt in a dream,
I felt Peace

Note: In a country that never rest, this feeling is hard to come by, but possible. I encourage you to find your own source of nirvana. It’s a hard life. TAKE A BREAK, and let it catch up with you my friend –Vernon

Side Writing:
The Wind wisp just moving along
As trees grow bold and strong
While the birds sing their song
So much more to cherish when you’re all alone
Just Peace

You know I always ask for truthful commentary on my poems, but for this poem I don’t give a shit what you honestly think. It’s really just a testimonial. I found something that I thought I lost a long time ago. BTW this happened to me this morning. I have not been asleep yet. Working Now -Vernon

and you seem likeable, quirky and charismatic to me...maybe you have issues still, but we all need this peace too...a little corner of nirvana I can dig..and this write for me, different and toned down..and perhaps not my idealistic type of write..

I still remember when, almost three years ago, I sat out in a field and watched the sunset, the colors reflecting on a rolling field of fresh, knee-length grass... I don't need any hope of heaven, just the memory.

I really enjoyed. Will say that 3 rd line tripped me up a bit with spelling though...sat? watched? I agree we rush too much and not allow time to feel or grieve,..necessary for healing..aids in peace. I think that is why appreciate DP so much. Thanks for
