Philosophy 101

who would care to discuss the criminally insane
those who slaughter and butcher at leisure
what patterns exist deep inside of their brains
that equate mutilation with pleasure?

a product of life the behaviorists queeze
"society's moral decay"
synapses misfiring because of disease
 (doctors and scientists say)
a devil of evil resides in their souls
the clergy will swear without question
"murder your father and cut off his balls"
Freud's theory of mother congestion

yet, they help keep the balance of wrongness and right
the duelectical aspect of darkness and light

hmmmm must there be evil to know good... linguistically some would say yes, because definitions are constructed on notions of difference... thus without some 'other' some opposite (antonym) the boundary of one cannot be decided

but then there is always the objection that language is always already a corruption of what is real, always already a reduction of experience to symbolism... abstraction, generic

On Sunday May 14th, 2006, Ainsof (1866) writes:
and if that is the case, then it would seem possible that the reality of good does not presuppose an evil, but then, if that is the case, how would we ever know and would we be able to talk about it... is language that arbitrary or mallable?
