You lie arrayed by a ring of stars
Visionary beneath a dying sun
Eyes closed and dew drop sodden
The brush of a kiss, never forgotten

My eyes follow your chest
As it rises and falls with every
Breath you inhale and exhale
Sighs carry across the vast terrain

Like a manifesting disorder
My eyes move away
Moments of pleasure extenuate
Synonymous with emotional decay

I slowly remove the pump from the side of
your chest as a little blood makes its way
To the floor, your eyes only ever held so
Much love when they were lifeless and barren

For the sake of injury my heart remains on my sleeve
The waters lap closer, edgewise to drown us
I would worship reciprocity but for that glimpse,
You gave me of my one-way effort

I once thought I would be shamed to leave
Your side, but things have changed
And people have moved on and don’t see
You standing on the outskirts begging for a way in

Now life is like a garden in winter
All decayed plant matter, listless
I’ve been lost in many a maze
But yours has too many turns
Each leading back to square one…

Countless circles of never-ending confusion
Beating down the back door *bang bang*
Singeing the hair on the back of my neck
Stalking my waking life to the point of no return

I should have seen the needle descend
As it pricked a hole in our sinking ship
Should have taken more notice
But time is a lonely friend

Its all we have left…

I'm floored. This is beyond beautiful. Definitely the best work i've read here so far. It creates such a picture, and instills such emotion in the reader.

I had to read it once, go back, and read it slowly... You have such talent that so very few come even near to posessing.
